SHILLONG: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma has pledged immediate security upgrades and financial assistance following a petrol bomb attack on the Directorate of Mineral Resources (DMR) office in Risa Colony on September 16.

Unidentified assailants hurled two petrol bombs into the compound during office hours—one detonating against the building’s exterior and the other setting an officer’s private vehicle ablaze.

No injuries were reported, but the vehicle (ML 05 AC 0429) was severely damaged.

Chief Minister Sangma, accompanied by Chief Secretary Shakil Ahmed and senior police officials, conducted a high-level inspection at the site.
