KHADC Surveys Nagrabil, Pilangku Boundaries

He emphasized that the initiative is designed to safeguard the interests of local residents by firmly establishing documented boundaries.

SHILLONG: During the winter session of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), Executive Member in charge of Land, Powell Sohkhlet, announced that land surveys have been carried out in Nagrabil, Pilangku-A, and Pilangku-B villages to verify and officially document land boundaries.

The move aims to protect these areas from encroachment by neighboring villages and outsiders.

Responding to a query from Jirang MDC Sosthenese Sohtun, Sohkhlet explained that the surveys were initiated following requests from Hima Marwet, Hima Mylliem, and local residents.

The Council commissioned a survey firm on August 14, 2026, after receiving formal letters in June.

Sohkhlet clarified that the survey encompasses all types of land—agricultural and private—within the villages, ensuring no property is left unmeasured.

He emphasized that the initiative is designed to safeguard the interests of local residents by firmly establishing documented boundaries.
