Late-Night Police Operation in Shillong Targets Rule Violators After Petrol Bomb Incidents

The night checking was carried out as part of increased vigilance following recent stray incidents at various locations in Shillong.

SHILLONG: East Khasi Hills District Police conducted a night checking operation across various parts of Shillong on the night of September 17 as part of intensified security measures in the city.

The checking operation targeting two-wheelers and four-wheelers began at around 11 p.m. in Laitumkhrah, Lad Umsohsun and other areas of Shillong.

During the operation, police detained several two-wheelers and modified vehicles and took action against motorists found driving under the influence of alcohol, riding without helmets and violating other traffic regulations.

Police personnel also observed several two-wheeler riders fleeing after noticing the checking points.

The night checking was also carried out as part of increased vigilance following recent incidents involving petrol bombs at various locations in Shillong.
