SHILLONG: The State Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), Meghalaya, seized 40.12 grams of heroin valued at approximately ₹7 lakh during an intelligence-led operation in Pynthorumkhrah, Shillong.
Acting on credible information about narcotics being transported from Silchar, Assam, the ANTF intercepted a vehicle (ML-05-AD-1301) and arrested two occupants—Jamir Hussain Laskar of Cachar, Assam, and Joy Ryntathiang of Nongmensong, Shillong.
A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of four soap boxes containing heroin.

The contraband was seized, and both individuals were arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
Further investigation is underway to trace the source, destination, and other individuals involved in the trafficking network.
The ANTF emphasized that the operation is part of ongoing efforts to disrupt narcotics supply chains and combat organized drug trafficking in Meghalaya.
