BJP MLA from Pynthorumkhrah, A.L. Hek, meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi

NEW DELHI/SHILLONG: BJP MLA from Pynthorumkhrah, A.L. Hek, met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi on Friday to discuss the political situation in Meghalaya and the party’s future strategy in the state.

Hek shared his assessment of Meghalaya’s evolving political landscape and highlighted opportunities for the BJP to build a strong, credible, and independent force.

He sought Shah’s guidance and support to strengthen the party across Meghalaya and work toward forming a BJP-led government, emphasizing the need for strong and accountable leadership.

Hek also discussed concerns regarding the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA) Bill.

Shah informed him that at least 35 Christian forums and leaders had already been consulted and that the Bill is currently under review by a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC).

Shah assured that Christian stakeholders would be invited to Delhi for further discussions after the JPC completes its process.

Hek described the political climate in Meghalaya as rapidly changing and said the coming days would be decisive for the state’s future leadership.
