SHILLONG: In a significant step toward expanding its footprint in the Northeast, Škoda Auto India has inaugurated its first-ever dealership in Shillong, marking the company’s official entry into the state of Meghalaya. The new facility is located at Laitkor Rngi and aims to bring the brand’s premium sales and after-sales services closer to customers in the region.
The newly launched Sales, Service and Spares (3S) facility has been established in partnership with SSB Automobiles Pvt. Ltd. (La i Jong Škoda) and offers customers access to the company’s complete vehicle lineup along with dedicated service and spare parts support.
The dealership features a 3,000 sq. ft. sales showroom capable of displaying up to four vehicles, while the service section spans 7,250 sq. ft. with three service bays, designed to provide efficient maintenance and repair services. The facility also follows Škoda’s Modern Solid global design philosophy, aimed at creating a welcoming environment and enhancing the customer experience.
Speaking at the inauguration, Ashish Gupta, Brand Director of Škoda Auto India, said the company is delighted to bring the brand closer to customers in Meghalaya and sees the Northeast as a promising market for future growth. He noted that expanding the company’s network remains a key focus following its record sales performance in 2025, and the new Shillong facility will allow customers to explore Škoda’s full product portfolio, including the Kylaq, Kushaq, Slavia and Kodiaq models.
Rakesh Kumar Singh, Dealer Principal of SSB Automobiles Pvt. Ltd., said the dealership is designed to deliver a seamless customer experience, from vehicle purchase to after-sales service. He expressed confidence that customers in Meghalaya will appreciate the combination of Škoda’s product quality and the dealership’s customer-focused approach.
Over the past few years, Škoda Auto India has significantly expanded its network across the country, growing from 120 customer touchpoints in 2021 to more than 325 touchpoints across 184 cities. The company says the Shillong dealership is part of its broader strategy to improve accessibility and strengthen customer engagement across India.
