TURA/GAROBADHA: The National People’s Party (NPP) further strengthened its organisational base on Saturday as over 300 members from various political parties joined its ranks in the Tura and Garobadha region.
The joining ceremony, held at Garobadha, witnessed the presence of senior party leaders, including MLA Subir Marak, along with several party functionaries and supporters.
Welcoming the new entrants, NPP Chief and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma urged them to work collectively for the overall development of the state and the welfare of society.
“As we march towards developing our state, we must propagate the message of unity and harmony,” Sangma said while addressing the gathering.
He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to safeguarding the rights and interests of indigenous communities and assured the new members of his full support. He also called upon them to actively participate in strengthening the party ahead of the upcoming Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) elections.
The event witnessed new members pledging to work diligently for the party’s vision of “inclusive growth and good governance”.
“NPP’s focus on unity, progress, and people’s welfare resonates with us. We are excited to be part of this journey,” said one of the newly inducted members.
Sangma’s call for collective action was met with applause, as party workers and supporters reaffirmed their commitment to the NPP’s ideals.
