SHILLONG: A thanksgiving service in memory of former Shillong Parliamentary Constituency MP, Dr. Ricky Andrew J. Syngkon, was held on March 17, 2026, at the Free Church, Sansad Marg, following his demise on February 19.
The programme, organised by the Indian Christian Parliamentarians Council, was attended by Members of Parliament, dignitaries, and well-wishers who gathered to pay tribute to the late leader.
The service commenced with an opening prayer, followed by scripture readings and reflections on Dr. Syngkon’s life and legacy. Speakers remembered him as a dedicated public servant who worked tirelessly for the welfare of the people, embodying integrity, humility, and unwavering commitment in public life.
Shillong Rajya Sabha MP Dr. W.R. Kharlukhi also addressed the gathering and paid homage to the departed leader.
Chairman of the Council Anto Antony and Vice Chairman P. Wilson delivered special messages, recalling Dr. Syngkon’s contributions and leadership.
Attendees described Dr. Syngkon as a compassionate and visionary figure, noting that his legacy will continue to inspire future generations.
