SHILLONG: The High Court of Meghalaya marked the 77th Republic Day on January 26, 2026, with a solemn and dignified celebration held within its premises.
The National Flag was hoisted by the Chief Justice of the High Court of Meghalaya, Justice Revati Mohite Dere, in the presence of Justice H.S. Thangkhiew, Justice W. Diengdoh, Justice Biswadeep Bhattacharjee, and members of the High Court staff.
The celebrations continued with a cultural programme at the auditorium, where artistes from across the state showcased Meghalaya’s rich cultural heritage. The performances included traditional dances such as Shad Mastih, Wangala Dance, and Shad Pliang.
The programme also featured a song performance by an advocate of the High Court of Meghalaya, along with a cultural presentation by the Khmih Creative Society, adding colour and vibrancy to the Republic Day celebrations.
