After the conundrum which calmed between the NEHU Vice-Chancellor and the teaching faculty over the speedy implementation of the NEP in the state, another ugly incident took place under the banner of the JAC comprising NEHUTA, NEHUSA and NEHUNSA demanding the removal of Rohit Prasad a senior consultant accused of crony appointment.
Under the leadership of JAC president Professor Lakhon Kma they entered the room asking him to surrender the key.
“We do not want to entertain anything with you, please give the key,” said Lakhon Kma. Under much duress Rohit Prasad submitted the key to which the JAC also announced a Non-cooperation like movement seeking the removal of Prasad with immediate effect.
The JAC reflected their disappointment over the Health Centre which lacks the equipment and necessary medicines during dire circumstances. They also demanded the release of advertisements on various non-teaching posts, quotations on laboratory items which are used by researchers and timely convocation.
