KHLIEHRIAT: In a major breakthrough in the investigation into the explosion at the Dhar Construction Company campus near Shymplong village in East Jaintia Hills district, police have arrested two persons following a joint overnight operation conducted by the East Jaintia Hills Police and West Jaintia Hills Police.
The explosion had occurred on December 15, 2025, prompting an intensive investigation by the district police.
The arrested persons have been identified as:

Issei Sungoh alias Sei alias Bah (29), a resident of Mynso B, under Jowai Police Station, West Jaintia Hills district.

Embha Ladong (25), a resident of Shymplong, under Lumshnong Police Station, East Jaintia Hills district.
Police said both accused were produced before the competent court, which granted six days of police custody to facilitate further interrogation and investigation.
Officials confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and that more arrests may follow as police continue to probe the circumstances surrounding the explosion.
The police have also appealed to the public to come forward with any information related to other individuals involved in the incident. Authorities assured that the identity of informants will be kept confidential and that suitable rewards will be given for credible information.
