SHILLONG: In the wake of four petrol bomb attacks in Shillong within 24 hours, Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Prestone Tynsong has issued a stern warning to perpetrators, assuring the public that strict security measures are underway to restore peace.
Tynsong revealed that the police have been directed to adopt a more proactive stance, with immediate reinforcement of security measures including CCTV installation in strategic locations and increased citywide police patrolling.
He emphasized that such criminal acts will not be tolerated and warned offenders that the law will catch up with them.

Despite the surge in violence, Tynsong expressed confidence in the state’s police force and ruled out the need for additional outside security personnel.
He reaffirmed the government’s strong commitment to public safety and declared that justice would be served against those responsible for the attacks.
