SHILLONG: The Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), Winston Tony Lyngdoh, today, informed that the Governor of Meghalaya has given his approval to the formation of the new Executive Committee (EC) of the Council.
Speaking to the media, the CEM stated that the newly appointed Executive Members (EMs) of the Council have officially taken charge of their respective portfolios.
Lyngdoh said that the new EC of the KHADC comprises himself as CEM along with seven new Executive Members.
Regarding the new portfolio allocations, the CEM will hold charge of the following departments: General Administration, Appointment, Posting & Transfer, Establishment, Trade Enforcement, Revenue Collection, Art & Culture, Khasi Traditional Medicine Commission (KTMC), and other departments not specifically allotted to others.
Powell Sohklet, MDC of Mawthadraishan Constituency, will be in charge of Land, Development, and Information & Technology. Seiborlang Wanrah will handle Finance, Taxation, and Forest.
Aibandaplin F. Lyngdoh Nonglait, MDC of Mylliem Constituency, will look after Health & Sanitation, Solid Waste Management, and Education.
Deity H. Mawjaw, MDC of Laitumkhrah–Malki Constituency, will take charge of Law & Legal Matters, including the implementation of the Khasi Social Custom of Lineage Act and Rules, Constitution of Courts, Marriage & Divorce, and Town Committees.
Isynei Hinge, MDC of Umroi Constituency, will oversee Water Resources and Fisheries. Pynkhrawboklin Kharjahrin, MDC of Mawkyrwat, will be in charge of Council Buildings & Council Assets and Building Bye-Laws.
Meanwhile, Denzil Raynard Chen, MDC of Mawprem Constituency, will handle Elaka Administration and Markets.
