SHILLONG: Persistent heavy rainfall in Meghalaya has led to severe waterlogging near the Umiam Dam bridge in Ri Bhoi district, close to the Umiam Police Station.
The situation has been exacerbated by the absence of proper drainage channels, causing rainwater to accumulate rapidly and form a massive stagnant pool.
The resulting flooding has severely disrupted vehicular movement, leading to significant hardship and traffic gridlock for commuters using this vital route.
