Milady’Squad MC Rides for Women’s Safety in Shillong

Co-founder Angela Indira Hrangkhawl emphasized that the ride was not against men, but rather against molestation.

SHILLONG: Milady’Squad MC, an all-female motorcycle club based in Shillong, organized a “Ride Against Molestation” on Sunday to raise awareness about sexual harassment and advocate for women’s safety, dignity, and rights. Starting at Shillong Club, 15 riders—including seven club members and eight guests—rode to the Umling toll gate and back as part of a nationwide campaign.

Co-founder Angela Indira Hrangkhawl emphasized that the ride was not against men, but rather against molestation and the stereotypes surrounding women’s safety.

She called for open dialogue and collective action to create a safer environment for women.

The Shillong ride was part of a broader initiative, with similar events held in Assam, Kolkata, and Delhi. Milady’Squad MC, established in 2019 and active since 2020, aims to promote women’s empowerment, unity, and respect for rights, encouraging the public to help build a society free from harassment and discrimination.
