NPP Confident of Victory in GHADC Polls; Deputy CM Dhar Denies Rift with Tynsong

Dhar characterized the NPP government as a "big and happy family" where there is no place for conflicts or differences.

SHILLONG: Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar, a senior leader of the National People’s Party (NPP), today expressed strong confidence that the party will secure a majority victory in the upcoming Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) elections.

GHADC Election Strategy

Speaking to the press, Dhar emphasized his commitment to the party’s success, stating, “My intention and goal is to work hard to ensure that the NPP must win.”

On queries related to GHADC employees’ salaries,  the Deputy CM noted that GHADC employees have praised the NPP-led government for taking swift action regarding their pending salary issues.

Regarding the allocation of tickets to candidates, Dhar pointed out that the NPP generally favors sitting MDCs in every election. He asserted that the question of denying tickets to sitting MDCs “does not arise at all,” although the party is still finalizing its list of candidates.

Denies Rift with Fellow Deputy CM Prestone Tynsong

Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar also took the opportunity to firmly refute allegations of a major rift between himself and his fellow Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong, who belongs to the same party.

Unity within the Party: Dismissing the claims circulating in the media as baseless, Dhar declared that he and Tyngsong  are “united and are one” and are working together as a single team for the welfare of the state and the party.

Furthermore, he demanded that the media outlets which published the “wrong news” claiming a rift should issue an apology.

Peaceful Functioning: “We are very united, we are one,” said Bah Sniawbhalang, adding that he, Bah Prestone Tynsong, and Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma are all working together peacefully.

He characterized the NPP government as a “big and happy family” where there is no place for conflicts or differences.
