Student Conclave India 2026 Wraps Up at MLCU

Student Conclave India 2026 provided a platform for India’s youth to engage with the evolving tourism landscape.

SHILLONG: The sixth edition of Student Conclave India 2026 concluded at Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU), Shillong, after three days of learning, competition, and industry engagement for students and tourism stakeholders from across India.

Organized by MLCU’s Department of Tourism and Travel Management in partnership with DTORR, UN Tourism, and supported by the Government of Meghalaya and PRIME Meghalaya, the event focused on sustainable tourism, skill development, digital innovation, and academia-industry collaboration.

Participants from leading institutions nationwide took part in learning sessions, policy pitches, competitions, and experiential field visits—including a guided tour of Sohra’s key tourism sites.

Top awards in competitions such as the Tourism Policy Pitch and AI in Tourism – Innovation & Challenge were secured by teams from ICFAI University Shillong, Maharaja Suhel Dev State University Azamgarh, and The Assam Royal Global University.

The conclave featured expert sessions and round-table discussions, highlighting the importance of practical skills, entrepreneurship, and local community engagement in tourism.

Industry, government, and community partners showcased local products and initiatives, while a special session explored digital interventions in tourism.

The event concluded with a valedictory ceremony led by Arts & Culture Minister Sanbor Shullai, recognizing winners and celebrating three days of collaboration and cultural exchange.
