SHILLONG: National People’s Party (NPP) President and Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong has firmly dismissed claims by BJP leader AL Hek regarding potential defections within the NPP, asserting that the party remains fully united and stable.

Responding to Hek’s suggestion that several NPP legislators are eager to join the BJP, Tynsong said, as state president, he is best placed to assess his party’s internal dynamics.

He reassured supporters and the public that all 33 NPP MLAs remain loyal to the party.

Tynsong urged the media to rely on facts rather than social media speculation or unverified remarks.

He characterized Hek’s statements as personal opinions rather than official BJP policy, adding that he would only respond to statements from the state BJP president.
