SHILLONG:
A 25-yr-old man, identified as Durgesh Kumar Rai, from the village of Mawnianglah was killed on the spot, while another, Habit Sangma (21 years old) from the village of Hatmudon, sustained serious injuries in an accident that occurred at 7th Mile Upper Shillong on Wednesday evening.
It was reported that Durgesh Kumar Rai was the one riding the Scooty bearing registration number ML05 AG 0862, while Habit was a pillion rider.
The scooty was coming from the Pomlum area when the incident occurred around 9:30 PM on November 19 at Elephant Falls Junction, 7th Mile Upper Shillong.
Police informed that the scooty they were riding collided with a truck, registration number ML04 B 0145, which was parked beside the road at Elephant Falls Junction.
