SHILLONG: United Democratic Party (UDP) General Secretary Titostarwell Chyne has questioned Paul Lyngdoh’s recent criticisms of the party leadership following his removal from the Cabinet.
Chyne expressed surprise at Lyngdoh’s repeated public remarks, noting that Lyngdoh has largely skipped party meetings over the past year and has only attended one Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting since his ouster.
Chyne emphasized that party members who are dissatisfied with leadership should raise their concerns in official meetings rather than airing grievances publicly.

He urged Lyngdoh to participate more actively in party discussions if he wishes to address specific issues.
Paul Lyngdoh, elected from Shillong West on a UDP ticket, was dropped from the Cabinet after two and a half years in the MDA 2 government, along with Kyrmen Shylla.
Their positions were filled by UDP President Metbah Lyngdoh and Lahkmen Rymbui, leading to public discontent and a lack of confidence expressed by Lyngdoh in the party’s top leadership.
