The Education Department has introduced a new system to prevent paper leakage where any leakage can be traced back to the specific school.

MSWDA President H.M. Marbaniang

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya School Welfare Development Association (MSWDA), Central Body, has sought clarification from the Directorate of Educational Research and Training (DERT) and the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) regarding the confusion surrounding the setting of question papers for Classes 6 to 9 in various schools.

Speaking to reporters, MSWDA President H.M. Marbaniang said there has been a misunderstanding over the directive related to question paper preparation, as several schools have been instructed to set their own papers for the middle-school level.

The Association met officials from both the DERT and MBOSE to seek a clear explanation on the issue and to ensure that schools receive proper guidance on the matter.

Marbaniang further informed that, as per a recent notification, question papers for Classes 6 to 9 will now be prepared centrally by the DERT and distributed through DCIL to the respective DSEO and SDSEO offices, after which schools will print them as required.

He added that the Education Department has introduced a new system to prevent paper leakage. Under this system, any instance of leakage can be traced back to the specific school or location where it occurred.
