SHILLONG: The 7th Edition of the Meghalaya Model United Nations (MMUN) Conference 2026 will commence on September 4 at Shillong College, uniting young delegates for three days of debate, diplomacy, and discussion on contemporary global issues.
Organized in collaboration with Shillong College and supported by the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, and district Deputy Commissioners, the conference will run under the theme “Renovar • Renasci • Renascentia.”
Participants will engage in various United Nations and specialized committees, honing leadership skills and exploring solutions to pressing social and international challenges.
Distinguished guest speakers include Dr. K. L. Iawbor, Joint Director of Health Services; Shri H. M. Shangpliang, Advisor to the Government of Meghalaya; Ambassador (Retd.) R. V. Warjri; social entrepreneur Hasina Kharbhih; F. G. Kharshiing, Retired IPS and Mission Director, DREAM; cyber forensic consultant Shreyas Muthye; and journalist Ibankyntiew Mawrie.

The opening ceremony will be held at 10:00 am on September 4, featuring addresses from distinguished speakers, the introduction of Executive Boards, a cultural performance, and the formal declaration of the conference open.
MMUN 2026 aims to provide a platform for youth dialogue, critical thinking, and leadership, fostering a culture of informed discussion and global awareness.
The conference will run through September 6 in Shillong.
