SHILLONG: Panic gripped commuters on Thursday after a suspicious bag triggered fears of a possible bomb threat at MES Point in Demseiniong.
Upon receiving information, the Bomb Disposal Squad rushed to the spot to examine the unattended bag, which had been placed near a traffic police booth. Acting swiftly, the team secured the area and began assessing the situation.
The Bomb disposal squad, accompanied by sniffer dogs, arrived at around 10:30 a.m. and carried out a thorough inspection of the bag. Following detailed checks, officials confirmed that it did not contain any explosive material.
The bag was found to be filled only with clothes, bringing relief to the public and restoring normalcy in the area.
