SHELLA, EAST KHASI HILL: The Tribal Empowerment Society (TES) organised an AI and Emerging Technologies Workshop for school students at R.K.M Higher Secondary School, Shella, East Khasi Hills, today, with the aim of introducing young learners to the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence and its practical applications in education and future careers.
Sponsored by the Chief Minister Youth Development Fund (CMYDF), the workshop focused on simplifying complex technological concepts into easy-to-understand lessons, while promoting digital awareness, curiosity, and career readiness among students.
During the session, students were introduced to the basics of Artificial Intelligence, its role in everyday life, and its growing importance across various sectors. Emphasis was placed on the responsible and ethical use of AI as a learning aid to support critical thinking and creativity, rather than replacing human intelligence.
Key topics covered included effective prompting, AI-assisted learning tools, exam preparation, note-making, concept clarification in subjects such as Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, and the use of AI for school projects and presentations. The workshop also featured interactive discussions, enabling students to share ideas and explore the real-world applications of emerging technologies.
Representatives of TES highlighted the importance of early exposure to digital and AI literacy, especially for students in rural and tribal areas, to ensure inclusive growth and equal opportunities in the digital era.
Students of R.K.M Higher Secondary School participated enthusiastically and expressed keen interest in learning more about emerging technologies and their future applications. TES reaffirmed its commitment to empowering tribal and rural communities through education, skill development, and technology-driven initiatives.
