SHILLONG: Kanard Purkystha, the newly appointed BJP in-charge for Meghalaya, emphasized that the party’s main focus is to expand and strengthen its organizational presence across the state.
During his maiden visit to Shillong, accompanied by the co-in-charge, Purkystha met with newly joined MLAs to strategize on building a robust party framework at the grassroot level.
Purkystha highlighted the party’s intent to reach every citizen and promote awareness of central government development initiatives under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He expressed that Meghalaya should fully benefit from these programs, as other states have.
He clarified that the current visit was dedicated to internal party discussions and organizational planning, with broader political issues to be addressed in due course.
Purkystha also commented on local urban challenges, noting the traffic congestion experienced in Shillong and expressing confidence that such infrastructure issues would be addressed through central leadership in the future.
