SHILLONG: East Khasi Hills Police on Friday arrested Banjop Dkhar, president of the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) Shillong Mihngi Circle, in connection with alleged vehicle vandalism during the KSU motorcycle rally on August 19, 2026.
Dkhar was apprehended at Mawdiangdiang, New Shillong, and produced before the District and Sessions Judge on Saturday for further legal proceedings.

Police allege the arrest relates to incidents during the rally, where masked individuals reportedly engaged in vandalism and other activities.
As Dkhar was brought to court, family members, KSU supporters, and Nongmynsong residents gathered to show their support.
