Shillong, Oct 30: The Riwar Mihngi Presbyterian Secondary School, Umtong, marked the culmination of its Golden Jubilee celebration today with a colourful and joyous programme.
The event was graced by the Moderator of the Khasi Jaintia Presbyterian Synod Pdeng, Rev. T. Khongjee, as the Chief Guest, while Mawkynrew MDC, S. Warbah, attended as the Guest of Honour.
In his address, Mawkynrew MDC S. Warbah, described the Jubilee year as a time of sanctification and renewal, symbolising freedom and growth for the school community. He lauded the students for being fortunate to witness and take part in such a historic occasion, encouraging them to have self-confidence and to overcome any fear in their studies.
Warbah also assured his continued support to the school, stating that he would work along with the management in any possible way despite the limitations of his official capacity.
Chief Guest Rev. T Khongjee, in his speech, congratulated the school management and expressed optimism that the institution would continue to achieve greater progress in all spheres.
The celebration featured a series of cultural performances by the students which added colour and vibrancy to the occasion.
A commemorative souvenir was also released to mark the 50th anniversary of the school.
