SHILLONG: A local taxi driver was found in an unconscious condition inside his parked vehicle (ML 05 Q 8884) at Khyndai Lad in central Shillong on the afternoon of August 26, 2026.
The incident quickly drew public attention after images of the scene circulated on social media.
Preliminary reports suggest the cause of such behaviour may be drug overdose, as a syringe was found near the body inside the taxi.

Police responded promptly, securing the area and transporting the individual to Shillong Civil Hospital for further examination and legal formalities.
